At about 1:30 this morning, local time, the Dali, a 985-foot (300 m) container ship operating under a Singapore flag, struck the steel Francis Scott Key Bridge in Baltimore, Maryland, that spans the lower Patapsco River and outer Baltimore Harbor. The bridge immediately collapsed.

Hello, I am a Democrat running for the Tennessee House of Representatives seat for District 23.

I have been active in this district for the past 40 years, working at Woods Hospital and Life Care of Athens, and volunteering in many different community projects.

I've witnessed firsthand the difficulties that our neighbors face in accessing essentials including good healthcare, affordable housing, and enough food. The incumbent, Mark Cochran, has ignored these issues, and instead promotes laws that restrict the rights of our most vulnerable citizens. He is most focused on being a cog in the Republican majority in Nashville.

If elected, I promise I will work hard to make the state government address the pressing needs of residents here in McMinn and Monroe Counties.
