Constitution:
Article III establishes the Judicial Branch with the U.S. Supreme Court as the federal court system’s highest court. It specifies that Federal judges be appointed for life unless they commit a serious crime. This article is shorter than Articles I and II. The Federal Convention left much of the work of planning the court system to the First Congress. The 1789 Judiciary Act created the three-tiered court system in place today.

Athens Area Council for the Arts (AACA) is pleased to present its annual Student Art Show for middle, high school, and college students of McMinn and surrounding counties. The entry deadline is Wednesday, December 18, 2024. The exhibit has three divisions: Middle School, High School, and College. There is no entry fee for middle and high school division artists, and those in the college division may enter for $10 per piece. Information about how to enter, including detailed prospectus and exhibit timeline, is available at: athensartscouncil.org/student-art-show-prospectus. The exhibit will be on display in the Willson Exhibit Room and Hallway Gallery at The Arts Center, January 6 through February 5, 2025. Viewing hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and during special events.
