Due to inclement weather the City of Athens announces the closure of City Hall, Public Works, Animal Shelter, and Recycling Center for Wednesday, January 17. Residential and commercial garbage collection will be delayed this week, a schedule will be released when road condition information is updated. McMinn County Government offices and courts will remain closed Wednesday, January 17 due to ice on roadways and extremely low overnight temperatures. Will reopen on Thursday.

MEDIC has canceled drives for tomorrow and the Athens and Crossville locations will also be closed.
