Alabama governor signs legislation protecting IVF providers from legal liability into law

The new law protects providers from lawsuits and criminal prosecution for the “damage or death of an embryo” during IVF services.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) is actively seeking feedback for the revision of its trout plan, specifically focusing on the management of the Hiwassee River Trout Fishery. To ensure the ongoing effectiveness and relevance of management strategies, the TWRA regularly updates the Hiwassee River Trout Fishery Management Plan. A recent in-person meeting at Lee University drew over 50 attendees, featuring presentations and Q&A sessions with staff from TVA, U.S. Forest Service, and Tellico Hatchery, providing a platform for comments and input. Black Americans outnumbered white Americans among the 29,500 people who lived in Selma, Alabama, in the 1960s, but the city’s voting rolls were 99% white. So, in 1963, Black organizers in the Dallas County Voters League launched a drive to get Black voters in Selma registered. The Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee, a prominent civil rights organization, joined them.
