We usually have a line from 830-1000 but today, the line lasted a long while. ' I am asking that you reflect that there are only about 40,000 adults in McMinn County. Unemployment has also risen, along with all necessities. I am not associated with TGFP nor am I asking you to donate to them. I am asking you to reflect on the need of your neighbors/community and not to make assumptions or dismiss others with comebacks such as get a job or welfare queens or something. If you have to dismiss/disregard/belittle others when they need assistance, run your mouth all you want inside your head, but keep your mouth shut. Please. It takes a lot of strength and determination to stand in a line, especially with people driving by, and a comment from someone that can chose to go to any restaurant/store they want from a place of some level comfort and ease and get what they want isn't warranted. Reminder: tomorrow is a 5th Wednesday which means anyone can visit distribution and received groceries for as long as supplies last. We also will have some small treat bags to hand out to school aged kids, thanks to the generosity of some of our volunteers. We know there are many school supply giveaways, but this is just a little treat! This is at the Downtown Athens Market Pavilion. The hours are 9am-12pm but its the busiest day try to come early they run out early on 5th Wednesdays! I know that when I drive by there at 7:30/7:45am there is already people there.
