E.G. Fisher Public Library has extended the deadline for poetry submissions for its upcoming Voices of Resilience spoken word event to Tuesday, April 29 at 12:00 PM. The showcase, celebrating the resilience and creativity of African American artists, will be held on Saturday, May 3 from 3:30–5:00 PM. Submissions—either original or written by others— should be sent to [email protected]

The Trash and Treasure Sale to benefit the McMinn Living Heritage Museum is no longer accepting donations. Premier night is Wednesday, April 23 from 5pm to 8pm with admission set at $10. Tickets are available at the Museum in advance or at the door. However, the sale opens to the public for free on Thursday, April 24th - Saturday, April 26th from 10am - 5pm on Thursday and Friday & Saturday from 10am - 3pm
