Due to inclement weather and road conditions, the City of Athens announces the closure of Public Works, Animal Shelter, and Recycling Center for Thursday, January 18, 2024. City Hall will re-open at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 18. For more information about the City of Athens, please visit www.athenstn.gov 

Athens City Schools will be closed on Thursday, January 18th, due to inclement weather. Kids connection will also be closed. Updates will be published as information is received.

MEDIC is in need of blood and platelet donors. MEDIC Regional Blood Center will be open on Thursday, January 18. Ailor Avenue – 8 AM. Farragut/Kingston Pike – 8 AM. Athens – 8:30 AM. Crossville – 8:30 AM CST. MEDIC will also have a mobile drive at the Home Depot in Clinton from 11 am to 5 pm and the Food City in Dandridge from 11 am to 5 pm.

Etowah Carnegie Library's next digital literacy class will be held on Tuesday, January 23rd at 6pm. This class will provide an introduction to Microsoft Word. Digital literacy classes are FREE and no registration is required. Participants are encouraged to bring their own devices! The McMinn Senior Activity Center will be closed Thursday, Jan 18, and depending on weather conditions, possibly Friday, Jan 19.
