National News
State News:
The Tennessee State Senate maps have been ruled unconstitutional and must be redrawn by January 31, 2024.
Local News:
The Good Faith Clinic will be open November 28th at 3 p.m. for refills and at 3:30 p.m. for doctor visits. The Good Faith Clinic is free primary health care for residents of McMinn and Meigs counties from ages of 18-64, who do not have any form of medical insurance, including TennCare. The clinic meets on the campus of Christ Community Church at 18 S Congress Parkway in Athens. REMINDER: The Good Faith Clinic is open the 2nd, 4th , and 5th, Tuesday of each month.
The regularly scheduled meeting of the McMinn County Library Board on November 27th at 6:00pm is being postponed to December 12th at 6:00pm to allow additional time for the E.G. Fisher Library Director search to be completed. The Board will meet at E.G. Fisher Public Library.
The McMinn County Historical Society and Archives will meet in the blueroom of the McMinn County Courthouse Sunday, December 3rd at 2 p.m. Carolyn Richie will be presenting “Last Stand At Fork Creek.”
