Seven jurors were placed Tuesday on the panel that will decide former President Donald Trump’s guilt or innocence in the New York hush money case, a process that has highlighted how difficult – and often contentious – it will be to pick a full jury.

On Sunday, April 14, 2024, Iran fired about 170 drones, more than 120 ballistic missiles, and more than 30 cruise missiles from Iran, Iraq, Yemen, and areas controlled by Hezbollah in Lebanon toward Israel. The strike was in retaliation for a strike on Iran’s diplomatic complex in Damascus, Syria, on April 1, which killed two top commanders in Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guards, along with other officials. Israel has not claimed responsibility for the Syrian strike, but officials from other countries believe Israel is responsible. Iran warned its attack was coming, and Israel and the U.S., along with Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Kingdom, and France, shot the missiles down. Israel sustained almost no damage. One Arab-Israeli girl was critically injured.

Bradi Sewell, CEO/Executive Director of the Athens/McMinn Family YMCA, traveled with Lindsey Ferguson, Executive Director of the McMinn County Economic Development Authority, to the Tennessee Childcare Summit in Nashville on April 10th. The purpose of this meeting was to discuss the state of childcare affairs and how groups like YMCAs, Economic Development, and the State of Tennessee can come together to build a stronger and more sustainable childcare infrastructure. Bradi and Lindsey were able to share about the Athens-McMinn Family YMCA’s Early Learning Center project and discuss additional funding opportunities for childcare in McMinn County. All of the work being done with these collaborations is to better support Tennessee families and employers.
