Biden to Overhaul Military Justice Code, Seeking to Curb Sexual Assault

The largest overhaul of the Uniform Code of Military Justice since its creation in 1950 will remove commanders’ authority over cases of sexual assault and a handful of other high-profile crimes.

There will be a backpack giveaway, including free school supplies, and free food (for kids only), July 29th from 9am – 12pm. There will be games, vendors, food trucks, special music guest and more at Athens Market Park Pavilion at 106 North Jackson Street in downtown Athens.

Etowah Senior Center is offering another basic computer skills class. The classes will be from August 21-24 from 11:30 until 2:30 and August 25 from 9:00 until 12:00. Laptops will be provided. If you attend all 15 hours of instruction, you will keep the laptop and will receive free internet access for a certain period of time. Very few spots are left.
