My Take:
Living in a red state with all legislators from the Republican party, I don’t feel like my legislators either listen or support my concerns about what is going on in our country, state, or county. Churches also have a large influence in this area, and I am still trying to figure out their impact on our community.
I attended a meeting last night and it was decided that two of the main needs of our area are child care and transportation, yet that is not being addressed in any way that I know of. I can’t help but wonder why that is? If providing childcare and transportation in our community would make the quality of life better, how come we have not done it? If I were to guess, it would be because that is basically a need for people with less means and ability to afford these two needed services in our community, and people better off do not want our taxes paying for that to help the less off. I hate to think that but what else could it be?
