• The City of Athens Parks and Recreation Department has announced that Soap Box Derby registration is now open online, in-person, and over the phone until Friday, May 17th at 5:00pm. Online registration will still be open until Sunday, May 19th at 11:59pm. For the first time since 2019, the race will take place on Keith Lane on Saturday, June 1st 2024. Registration can be done online at www.athenstn.gov, by calling the Parks & Recreation office at (423) 744-2704, or by visiting the office at 815 N. Jackson St.
