National News:

McCarthy struggles for debt bill votes, makes late changes

House Republicans have made post-midnight changes to their sweeping debt ceiling package to win over holdouts. Facing a revolt from Midwestern Republicans over doing away with biofuel tax credits that were just signed into law last year by President Joe Biden, Republicans relented and allowed the tax credits to stay on the books. Republicans also agreed to more quickly launch bolstered work requirements for recipients of government aid, starting in 2024. Speaker Kevin McCarthy is struggling to round up the votes for the bill, which would couple an increase the country's debt ceiling with restrictions on federal spending. A final vote on the package could come as soon as Wednesday or push to Thursday.

Yes, that's right, our own state senator Adam Lowe is more concerned over attractive moms than children getting slaughtered in our schools. I just called (615-741-1946) and let his office know I was sending this out to as many people as I could. Hoping you will do the same, this is disgusting...

Local News:

The McMinn County Election Commission

voted to consolidate Precinct 3 Central High

School and Precinct 4 Englewood School.

Both Precincts will now be Precinct 4 and

all election day voting will be at Englewood

School. New voter Registration cards will

be mailed out shortly after July 1st. Also,

Precinct 10 Tennessee College of Applied

Technology has been relocated to McMinn

County High School. Voting will be in the

cafeteria, and there will be more parking

available for voters. New voter Registration

Cards will be mailed out shortly after July

1st. March 5, 2024, will be the Presidential

Preference Primary and County Primary
