Repelled by high car prices, Americans are holding on to their vehicles longer than ever
The average age of a passenger vehicle on U.S. roads hit a record 12.5 years this year, according to data gathered by S&P Global Mobility. Blame it mainly on the pandemic, which triggered a shortage of automotive computer chips, the vital component that runs everything from radios to gas pedals to transmissions. Prices surged to record highs. And though they’ve eased somewhat, the cost of a vehicle still feels punishingly expensive to many Americans.

Trump to get schooled on judge's rules barring him from using evidence to slam witnesses
The judge overseeing the Manhattan criminal case against Trump set the hearing for later this month to make clear that if the former president violates a prohibition on using evidence to attack witnesses, he risks being held in contempt.

A Tennessee company is refusing a U.S. request to recall 67 million air bag inflators
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is demanding that ARC Automotive Inc. of Knoxville recall 67 million inflators in the U.S. because they could explode and hurl shrapnel.
